PSG's Champions League Hat-Trick Dream: Luis Enrique and Players Aim for Historic Season

Luis Enrique and several of his players have clearly stated their desire to achieve a fantastic treble this season in the Champions League, on the eve of the European Super Cup against Aston Villa.

After their back-to-back victories, PSG dreams of a three-peat. As the two-time defending champions of the Champions League, the Parisian club is not satisfied and still hopes to make history by securing a third consecutive European crown. On the eve of their first official match of the season, the European Super Cup against Aston Villa, Luis Enrique was clear about his objectives for the 2026-2027 season. When asked in a press conference about the ambition to achieve a Champions League treble, the coach was direct.

"Of course! We set very ambitious goals from the beginning and we will continue like that. Right now, it's a different, special scenario, because at the moment, I believe everyone thinks we can still win," stated the Spanish PSG coach on Tuesday. "But that's the theory. After that, we have to show our level. We have to show on the field that we have the level. We aim to be there, alongside those types of teams (that have achieved a treble)."

The Treble? 'That is our objective'

A key architect of PSG's two European titles since his arrival, Luis Enrique has successfully instilled this thirst for victory in his players. Happy to have an ambitious group at his disposal, the former Spain national team manager can count on loyal support within the locker room. Among them, Marquinhos fully embraces this desire to always win more with Paris.

"Aim for the treble? That is our objective. We know how difficult it is, how hard it is. It's not because we have won many things in the last two seasons that it was easy," said the iconic PSG captain to the press. "We know the path and the road has many obstacles and many stones in the way. We will take it step by step."

The Brazilian defender also looked ahead to the season's start with a potential European Super Cup title: "First of all, we have an objective on Wednesday. Despite a truncated and rather short pre-season after their late return following the 2026 World Cup, Marquinhos praised the Parisian squad's mindset. According to him, all the players are motivated by the desire to win trophies and are making significant efforts to achieve it.

"Personally, I aim to win more and more. I think all the players in our team are like that too. And even though we haven't had much preparation, even during vacation and on their own, some have prepared themselves to arrive here and be ready to give their maximum in Wednesday's match," continued the PSG captain before the continental clash against Aston Villa. "While balancing rest, vacation, and preparation time. The team on the field on Wednesday will give 100% to try and secure the victory."

His teammate Vitinha, also present before the journalists, confirmed: "I'm doing well. Like last year, we were hungry for more titles. We wanted to win more titles and more trophies.
