Conflicting reports from Greek sports outlets paint a picture of uncertainty surrounding basketball player Tyler Dorsey's future. While Olympiacos holds his contract until the summer of 2027, making any transfer contingent on their agreement, several media outlets have published varying figures and scenarios regarding potential moves.

Sportime initially reported a three-year, $12 million offer from PAOK. Two days later, the same publication suggested Olympiacos might release Dorsey for approximately €2 million, potentially involving Nasos Bazinas in the deal. Basketplus.gr's "Menoume Basket" program cited journalist Klitos Karkanias, who claimed PAOK secured a pre-contract with Dorsey in the summer for €3.4 million annually over four years, plus bonuses.

Pick and Roll recently reiterated the €2 million transfer fee, a figure exceeding Dorsey's estimated salary of €1.8 million for the current season. According to their calculations, Olympiacos could net around €3.5 million by avoiding the remaining salary payments, estimated at €1.5 million. The €4 million per season figure, first mentioned in September, was also published by Iefimerida.

These reports, though unconfirmed by the clubs, highlight the active pursuit of scoops by Greek media, often disseminating rumors. Dorsey's current contract with Olympiacos runs until summer 2027, meaning no club can sign him without the Piraeus-based team's consent.

Dorsey was sent back to Athens before Olympiacos's trip to Barcelona following critical Instagram posts about his reduced playing time and contract status. Olympiacos secured a 100-105 victory at Palau Blaugrana on October 16 without him. The player has since held discussions with the club's management. Sportime speculated on October 16 that he might rejoin the team that month, only to suggest the following day he could train alone for several weeks. Olympiacos is scheduled to host Fenerbahçe on Friday, October 23.

In five Euroleague games, the 30-year-old Greek international guard averaged 12.6 points in 18 minutes and 26 seconds. He shot 48.8% from the field and 40.7% from three-point range, making 11 of 27 attempts, according to official game sheets. After scoring 25 points in Vitoria and 22 in Bologna, he played only 5 minutes against Valencia on October 13, scoring 2 points.

PAOK, competing in the EuroCup, strengthened its roster this summer by signing Nick Calathes and Cedi Osman, and adding Donatas Motiejunas in early October. Coach Andrea Trinchieri's team holds a 2-1 record after three rounds, with wins against Manresa (93-78) and Bosna in Sarajevo (72-75), and a loss to Lietkabelis in Panevezys (95-86).
