Rayan Cherki Denies Rift with Michael Olise in France Squad
Rayan Cherki has publicly refuted claims of tension or misunderstanding between himself and Michael Olise within the French national team. His clarification came via a social media post on Sunday, two days after France's 1-1 draw with Italy in the Nations League.
Cherki retweeted an article from L'Equipe that suggested Olise felt some "facéties" (antics) from Cherki. The Manchester City player responded, "Another invention… Magnificent the inspiration," directly contradicting the report.
Both Cherki and Olise have featured prominently under new France manager Zinedine Zidane. In the first three matches since Didier Deschamps' departure, both players started twice, against Turkey (1-0 win) and Italy (1-1). They also both came on as substitutes with fifteen minutes remaining in the victory against Belgium (1-0).
Zidane is expected to make further changes for Monday evening's second match against Belgium, according to RMC Sport.
