Oulai: Fiorentina is the Perfect Fit for Young Player Development

Christ Inao Oulai has stated that Fiorentina is the "perfect" club for him, emphasizing its strong track record of nurturing young players. The Ivory Coast international revealed he "jumped at the chance" to make the €26 million plus bonus transfer from Trabzonspor.

Following his participation in the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, Oulai officially joined the Serie A club. During his presentation at their training camp in Tuscany, the 20-year-old shared his thoughts on the move.

"The Fiorentina project is ideal for me because the club excels at improving young players. I eagerly seized the opportunity to join," Oulai commented. "My goal here is to learn and evolve as a player. My life has undergone significant changes in the past year, and I am proud of my progress and truly happy to be part of Fiorentina."

The squad has undergone a considerable overhaul under new coach Fabio Grosso, with Oulai being one of several significant acquisitions, including Arthur Atta from Udinese. Oulai expressed his enthusiasm for the new team dynamic: "We are all very young, and we are delighted to collaborate. I am committed to giving my all for the team and diligently applying everything the coach instructs daily." He specifically praised Atta, noting his exceptional talent and skill.

Drawing inspiration from his nation's footballing heritage, Oulai cited Yaya Toure as a personal idol, acknowledging his influence while watching numerous great players.

In this centenary year for Fiorentina, the club is determined to improve upon their previous season's performance, which saw them narrowly avoid relegation. Oulai concluded, "We will give 100% in every match, playing with grit and determination to achieve as much as we possibly can."

Speaking further to Sky Sport Italia, Oulai elaborated on his decision: "I accepted Fiorentina's offer because it is a historic club, recognized globally. It's an ambitious team that showed keen interest in me, and they ensured I was in the best possible conditions even before my arrival. We've been working together for two to three weeks, and we will approach every game as a final to accomplish something significant by the end of the season."
